THRESHOLD ENERGY LTD
Finding the conditions where geothermal energy becomes possible.
Threshold Energy is a Canadian geothermal exploration and development company focused on identifying fracture-hosted geothermal systems—places where heat, fluids and naturally occurring fractures align to create the conditions for geothermal energy.
Our approach combines geology, geochemistry and advanced geophysics to better identify subsurface permeability, reduce exploration risk and define geothermal resources before committing to costly deep drilling.
Our first project is the Kootenay Lake Geothermal Project in southeastern British Columbia, where six years of investigation have identified compelling evidence of an active geothermal system.

Next Stage: target refinement, permitting and geothermal gradient drilling
The community origins of the project remain central to our philosophy: geothermal development should create value not only from energy, but for the people and communities connected to the resource.
WHY THRESHOLD
Geothermal begins with geology.
The greatest challenge in geothermal exploration is not simply finding heat. It is finding heat, fluid and permeability in the same place.Threshold Energy focuses on the geological structures that create and maintain pathways for geothermal fluids—faults, fractures and structural intersections capable of connecting deep heat with shallower reservoirs.
By integrating geological mapping, geochemistry, thermal investigations and increasingly sophisticated geophysical imaging, we aim to identify the most prospective locations before undertaking expensive deep drilling.
The objective is simple:Better targeting. Lower exploration risk. More responsible development.
OUR NAME
The point where conditions change.A threshold is the point at which accumulated conditions produce a fundamental change. In the Earth, heat alone does not create a geothermal resource. Geological structure, stress, fractures, fluids and temperature must come together in the right way before a usable geothermal system can emerge.
Threshold Energy is named for that moment. Our work is focused on finding those places—and determining whether the energy beneath them can be responsibly developed.
